What to Wear in Dubai in October
Dubai in October: 36°C / 97°F afternoons, 25°C / 77°F nights, and the month the evenings come back while the afternoons stay summer.

Pack for two shifts. NOAA's figures for Dubai International Airport give October 35.8°C by day and 25.5°C at night across 1991–2020, with almost no rain, and the National Center of Meteorology calls it a transition month whose drop in temperature comes mainly in the second half, with humid early mornings that bring fog. So the afternoon stays indoors and the evening moves out. Global Village reopens on 14 October, opens its gates at 4pm and asks guests to dress modestly, and the Dubai Fitness Challenge starts on the 31st. Pack sun cover for a beach morning, sleeves and a long hem for the evening, and a scarf for a mosque tour.
October is the month Dubai gets its evenings back. The afternoon still belongs indoors, but from sunset, around six, the city is outside again, and a long linen hem does more for you than a sundress.

Wednesday 14 October 2026, when Season 31 opens; the Government of Dubai Media Office announced the date on 14 September. The park opens at 4pm, and its visitor rules begin by asking guests to dress modestly, so wear sleeves and a long hem: the linen shirt-dress, or the pleated trousers with the cardigan. Wear flat sandals with an ankle strap for hours of walking on paving between pavilions, and a crossbody bag to keep your hands free.
Late October. The National Center of Meteorology expects most of the month's cooling in the second half, Global Village is open from the 14th, and the Dubai Fitness Challenge starts on Saturday 31 October and runs to 29 November. Dubai's private schools on the unified calendar break from 12 to 16 October, so that week is a family holiday for residents too. GITEX Global no longer falls in October: in 2026 it moves to 7 to 11 December at Expo City Dubai.
November is about five degrees cooler by day and four at night. NOAA's airport figures give November 30.7°C and 21.3°C against October's 35.8°C and 25.5°C, and the National Center of Meteorology puts November's highs and lows 4 to 6 degrees below October's. November is when the Fitness Challenge takes over Sheikh Zayed Road with the Dubai Run and Dubai Ride, which our November guide covers. October is the month for the beach in the morning and Global Village at night.

The National's history of the kandura describes the summer kandura in light white or cream fabric and the winter one in heavier wool or wool-mix in dark grey, navy or brown, and notes that heavy polyester and brown caught on in the 2000s. At October's 36°C the summer weight is the one to match: pale linen and cotton, long sleeves, full length. Jumeirah Mosque lends abayas, sheilas and kanduras to visitors who arrive without covering.
