That is drizzle. It rarely cancels anything. The light does: sunset moves from about 4:35pm on 1 November to just before four on the 30th. The month's one big outdoor date is 9 November, when the Berlin Wall Foundation holds its central commemoration on the former border strip at Bernauer Straße. The Christmas markets wait until Monday 23 November. So the capsule is black and grey wool for an evening spent standing still, not December's market kit.

Early November has more light, with sunset about 4:35pm on the 1st, the closing night of Jazzfest Berlin on Sunday 1 November, and the commemoration on the 9th, when, in the Berlin Wall Foundation's words, Berlin “an die Friedliche Revolution im Herbst 1989 erinnert”, remembering the Peaceful Revolution of autumn 1989. Late November has less light but all three big markets: Gendarmenmarkt, Charlottenburg and Spandau open on Monday 23 November, the day after Totensonntag. Gendarmenmarkt charges €2, free on weekdays from 11am to 2pm.
Six degrees colder by day, four colder at night, and just as wet. The change you feel is light: October ends at about 9h 40m of daylight, and November takes another hour and a half off that. Trippen is the local reference: Angela Spieth and Michael Oehler founded it in Berlin in 1991 after finding a 1970s wooden sole at a traditional lasts factory, and since 1998 it has made its sculptural leather shoes and boots on its own soles at a factory in Zehdenick, a former GDR shoemaking area about 60 km north of the city.
